Central Oxford Mosque provides a cost to cost funeral service at £300 for the local Muslim community, including access to our purpose built mortuary and full Janazah arrangements.

The Mosque supports bereaved families during their time of grief by assisting with body washing (ghusl), shrouding (kafan), and coordination with local cemeteries for burial according to Islamic rites.

In addition to the logistical support, the Imam and Mosque volunteers offer spiritual guidance and emotional comfort to families navigating this difficult period. The mosque ensures that all rites are performed with the utmost respect, dignity, and adherence to Sunnah, creating a space where families can grieve and honour their loved ones in accordance with faith.

The Mosque facilitates administration,  registration of death, collection of the deceased, admin, washing and shrouding, funeral prayers, condolence offerings and burial. Our Imam’s provide pastoral support for grieving families.

The Mosque began this initiative 3 years ago to fill the void for those who could not afford a burial. Most funeral companies charge in excess of £1400. As Muslims we should be providing funerals at Cost and free for those who cannot afford them.

Our service is open to all Muslims and open to everyone to volunteer at their own cost. Nobody is paid.
